Located on his right wrist. He got it for his seventieth birthday,
a friend-of-a-friend that knew a tattoo artist.

Griffin also has his nose pierced on the left side.
Scars/Birth Marks:
From just above his left eyebrow to just below was an eyebrow piercing going wrong. I guess that's what you get for letting a drunk friend experiment on your face though. Besides that, and the occasional childhood scarring, Griffin has managed to stay scar free. Located below his jaw line on the left side is a barely visible round shaped birthmark.
Physical Appearance:
Standing at 5'10 with light blue eyes and the perfect amount of wave in his dirty blond locks, Griffin is used to catching almost every girls eye while walking around town or in school. He is the ideal person you think of when you hear "If you've got it, flaunt it." Griffin is well aware of just how attractive he is to the opposite sex, but he doesn't let it go over his head.
Usually caught in a single colored t-shirts with sayings or company names on them, Griffin keeps up to date with fashionable clothing. Unlike most, he isn't able to just pick up a shirt, instead he takes the time to search through clothes and trying them on, just to make sure they fit snug enough to show off his small, but built frame. It's rare to catch Griffin without some sort of extra layer. If it isn't a polo button-up shirt, it's a hooded jacket that matches the rest of his outfit. Every now and again, you'll happen to catch him in a leather jacket.
Griffin prefers the comfortable look, but he makes it look good. So when it comes to below the belt, you'll catch him in a pair of dark colored blue jeans, either lightly faded or with cuts in them, of course, they came from the store that way. He also has a huge variety of basket ball shorts in almost every color you can think of that he's often seen wearing.

When Griffin isn't preoccupied with school and sports, he's playing one of the many instruments that he taught himself to play. Music is a passion for him, without it in his life, there'd be no purpose. Griffin also loves spending time with his friends, but refuses to let his friendships get in the way of his school. As of late, cuddling with his new love interest, Emmalee, has become a must.
Family:
History:
Born into a emotionally unfit family, young Griffin did as well as anyone would expect when his mother walked away from the family. Most thought he was too young to understand, but even at eight years of age, the boy knew she wasn’t coming back. It left his father, Robert Mateo to play Mr. Mom. It was hard, both of Griffin’s parents were young, seventeen in way in over their head for high school sweethearts. Nonetheless, the two planned out their future. Griffin’s father would join the army, a dream of his, and pursue a doctor career upon his arrival back while his mother would stay at home with Griffin and whatever other unexpected addition they might have had. They quickly found out that it wasn’t just rainbows and butterflies though. Long, sleepless nights with newborn Griffin stained his parents relationship.
From there, things only went downhill when, a year later, Griffin’s baby sister was welcomed to the world, dead. With his parents devastated, the relationship only worsened, the relationship between the two was no longer stained but torn. There was no fixing this broken home unfortunately, but the two did the best they could to make things work for the sake of their babies. His Dad was always busy, he could remember, when he wasn’t at work he was at school. He did well, too, graduating and becoming a great doctor within time. His Mom stayed at home a lot, mostly locked in her room mourning over the loss of her baby. The sitter that his parents could finally afford raised Griffin during that time. Around the closing of his parents marriage, Griffin’s father traveled for work, giving up the fight of ever having a lasting relationship with the one that used to be the love of his life.
“I love you, Griff”, he could remember those final words his mother spoke to him, giving him a final hug. Her tears stained his shirt, the hurt in her blood shot eyes forever leaving a mark on his heart as she walked away. Griffin’s Dad was gone at the time, away on another business trip, but he was aware of what was happening back at home. He didn’t see his father until a week after his mother’s departure. His hate, had Griffin known what it was, grew for his father with every rerun of the day his mother left him on the porch of their home in his dreams when he woke up alone in a dark room, a Spider-Man nightlight being his only way to see around the lonely room.
It never changed. Griffin’s Dad stayed gone and the nanny raised the child who eventually became intact with his outspoken and odd personality. During the start of his teenage years, Griffin often rebelled out against his father’s wishes, out of spite of course. The two encountered numerous arguments during the time, sometimes going to the extent of physical violence. However, the twos secret bond eventually revealed itself and the two shared an unbreakable bond, even though his Dad stayed gone just as much as before, if not more.
Not much has changed these days. Griffin has been experimenting with more instruments. After his Dad getting him a drum set when he was thirteen, Griffin found he was a quick leaner after getting the hang of it. Reaching his goal of a personal master, his new interest was sparked by guitars. Owning five- two acoustic, two electric, and one both; Griffin has taught himself all he knows about playing them. However, he’s not quick to give this particular instrument up, he strives to learn new songs, often not putting the guitar down until his fingers are bleeding and he can play the song all the way through. When he isn’t playing his guitars though, he’s practicing his snare drum for band.
Currently, Griffin has been more focused on school than ever, often being the best in all of his academic classes. He doesn’t rebel out as often, but it gets the best of him every now and again. The cause to his sudden calmness may happen to be the big brother role he has taken on for his cousin, Laura, who he finally decided to take notice to after five years of living with her.

A question followed a kiss, which, he gladly returned while placing his arms around her small frame and leaning back against the closed door, that grin fading into a simple smile that had no intentions of disappearing.
"You weren't planning on standing me up, were you?" He smirked, quick to dive back into the kiss that he had come up to get air from by asking the curious filled question. Had she? Her voice seemed so serious when she replied to the person standing outside her door that she figured was just another one of her nosy cabin mates. Great, mind filled already. Gage pulled away with a more blank expression than he had went in with. His waiting for an answer was cut short by a new, from her.
He smiled once again, lightly this time, "Well... I came to get my girlfriend, which, I'm pretty sure is you..." He engaged himself in another kiss, pulling her body against his before pulling away to finish his on going sentences. "So that I can take her up and sit next to her on one of those log trees and share the most innocent kisses to make everyone else jealous..." He was teasing, but at the same time, being completely honest.
"Can you really say no to that? Especially after getting all dressed up- very nicely, might I add." He said, after looking at the outfit that she wore perfectly. With his gaze meeting hers, a smile sat itself back on his lips again.
"Come on, Sweets... Don't make me go up there alone, or even worse, with your cabin mates following close behind me... Looking at what they know belongs to you..." He was being sarcastic in all hope that it would make her want to go with him, just to make sure everyone knew that he was no longer just the bad attitude camp counselor, he was her bad attitude camp counselor.
Since Cam's existences was known, Gage's attitude had changed even more. She had managed to open up a softer side to the asshole that was known as him, as well as some feelings he had never experienced. He was grateful for her, and the way that each passing day, hour made him doubt her even less. Surprisingly, he was completely confident in them tonight, despite the plan she was unaware of after the bonfire... He was more than a bit nervous about that. But then again, who wouldn't be?
"I could... Persuade you? Promise you passionate kisses and cuddling throughout the entire night. Or, you know, did I strip tease of some sort..." He couldn't help but laugh at himself before stealing her lips with his for a moment or two. Gage, the counselor that barely spoke was probably speaking more with her than he had in his entire lifetime.
"We'll even start making people jealous now..."
He said, that devilish smirk finding its way on his lips that he now pressed roughly against hers as he pushed himself from the comfort of the door. Removing one arm from around her waist, he placed it on the door knob and twisted, pulling it open. An audience, and public affection- it was nice. Maneuvering himself to where she once stood, he playfully pushed them both out of the quiet room, still engaging himself in the deep kiss. It didn't take long for the giggles to stop after her back hit the wooden wall with a dull bang.
How's that for an entrance... Gage remained in this kiss for a few moments longer before pulling away, holding back the laugh that begged to escape. Instead, a wide grin replaced what he wouldn't let come out.
He cleared his throat. "You ready?"

The moment his eyes met hers and he was pulled into her room, Gage grinned.
