Double check- Gage straightened his long sleeved, dark blue dress shirt while letting out a sigh of relief as he slipped out the door without being seen. Sneaking around wasn’t his specialty, but ever since this little secret started with Baliee, he didn’t have a choice, explaining this new found love to his twin sister and her cousin would be hell. Gage shuddered at the thought. Nobody ever expected this relationship, not even Gage himself did but… It happened, and it was something he couldn’t give up on but couldn’t be completely truthful about with everyone either. Baliee wasn’t stepping up to the plate to tell them either so there they were. Sneaking.
Feeling on the inside of his right pocket of the dark jeans he wore, Gage removed the cell phone. A few moves of his finger and he sent the text message Baliee’s way. He should have been gone fifteen minutes ago but Corinna had walked in the door just as he made plans with his secret love.
Gage sighed, not knowing how much longer the two of them could keep this such a secret from their loved ones.
The thoughts haunted his head the entire drive there, not even music could drown them out. Baliee and Gage were two different people, and, unfortunately for their family members, they found one thing in common- their grief over Corinna being in a coma. It almost amazed Gage how close that brought them in that short amount of time. His sister would never forgive them for their change in hearts toward each other, she’d be betrayed. He was helpless in this situation as to what to do.
“Bales?” His low tone echoed throughout the giant house that he had just opened the door to. Instantly, he regretted it with the thought of Jason being home coming ashore. Safe, he guessed. She was upstairs more than likely, getting ready. Gage had learnt to let himself in, knowing she’d never hear the knock at the door from all the way in her room or the doorbell because of the music she usually blared while getting ready. A quick look around and she hadn’t caught his eye yet, he headed up the stairs and gave a quiet knock at her bedroom door. Gage’s blue eyes searched around the hall for a moment, half expecting Jason to come out of his room and ask what he was doing here. A sigh escaped, relieved once again that he hadn’t been caught by friends or family as he pushed open the door and walked in.
“Sorry I’m late… Did you get my text?” Gage turned, pushing the door shut before walking over to the brunette. He was pleased to see her, the smile on his face gave that away quickly as he leaned in to plant a gentle kiss upon her cheek.
