Victorious, but not even her happiness could bring her to gloat, not today. Even with the acceptance of his loss, Ryland was calm, humble. It brought a smile to Robyn's face for a few minutes, before he broke the silence, in a matter of speaking, with his voice. The warm comforting voice in which even if you couldn't stand to hear it, was comforting.
"Hmm"
Touching her left index finger, lightly to her lips, she pondered her next move. Smoothie, or another game. They could always celebrate his coming home, and end their day with a smoothie, or a soda pop, it didn't matter, but right now, drinks weren't her main concern.
Robyn scoped the place out, a few kids leaving with moans and groans that they had yet again failed to acheive the top score on their favorite game before running out of quarters. Others were tiring down, making use of the tables and chairs, spending almost the last bit of the money they'd come here with today on snacks and refreshments. Most of the games, were less crowded now than they had been before.
Grinning, she saw a classic, or at least to her it was. Her favorite arcade game growing up because all you had to do was steer a little yellow ball in the right direction so that he could eat all of the pellets on the screen before the ghosts ate him, pacman, and mrs. pacman right next to it.
The childish grin on Robyn's face faded once she turned back to face Ryland, attempting a more serious expression, and failing miserably.
"Pacman, and mrs pacman. I'll take the mr and you take the mrs. I bet I can beat your score this time."
That same childish grin came flooding back to her face.

Ryland's head tilted drastically as she made known her first choice, a smooth smirk applying itself easily to his lips. He was somewhat surprised by the fact that she had chosen Pacman, over every other game in that place. He honestly didn't peg Robin for a classics kind of girl. Well, he didn't peg her for a game type of girl at all, unless of course that game involved liquor and a whole stack of boys. He'd never once thought she was a slut, because he didn't believe in the term. She was living life how she wanted to, and just as long as she wasn't doing it to cover anything up, then he wouldn't step in the way.
Unless, he knew for a fact that she could be doing something better with her time, or if he knew for a fact that she'd eventually regret whatever she was about to do. Like that one time Sophomore year when she was piss drunk, and about to fuck the tuba player in the marching band. The two were mortal enemies until she had a few drinks in her. Then again, everyone was like that.
"Pacman? I honestly didn't think you were the classics kind of girl. I'm impressed."
A light laugh escaped through his lips as he nodded, accepting both the challenge, and the idea. Turning in the direction of the two unused games, Ryland made his way toward the Ms Pacman, guarding Pacman for his partner in crime. It wasn't fun to watch someone play again, unless it was DDR. Sometimes he'd go to the arcade just to watch people stomp around and dance like they knew what they were doing, other times he'd go JUST to play that game. He was good at it, too. If he weren't always trying to make it into a joke.
"Alright, you're on."
Everyone knew both of their financial status', but he still felt obligated as a gentleman to pay. He worked, so it was really no big deal at all to him. Besides, money wasn't his biggest concern. His biggest concern was living, being able to say he had lived at the bottom and utmost end of everything. After high school he planned on roaming the country-- maybe even Europe. He wasn't going to save for it, he was just going to roam. To live.
Grabbing a few more quarters from his pocket, he smiled and paid for the two of them. Now, she was going down.

A raised eyebrow and a smirk was the reaction to his state of being impressed as well as amazed toward her. Pacman, however, although classic, was a favorite of hers. In fact, even if not a soul in the world knew this about her, it was a fact that Robyn would sit in front of her television set for hours on end when she was a little girl, engaging herself in a world full of games such as pacman and sonic the hedgehog, the original mario bros. games on a sega genesis system.
"Hmm..I guess there's more to me that what meets the eye, huh?"
She grinned, following him over to the two empty machines, watching him place two quarters in the machines, one for each machine. It was amazing how he never really stereotyped anyone, and what had amazed her even more, was that there were still gentlemen in the world. The true, pure and genuine kind, as opposed to the kind that played it off as an act until they got you in bed.
"So..ready to watch me kick your ass?"
She laughed, a grin still planted upon her face as she took the joystick, biting her bottom lip as she smirked to herself, letting a small laugh out. It was hard to get Robyn into any situatioon without her mind slipping somewhere into the nearest gutter to it.
"And here I thought this was a rated pg arcade.."
Still smirking, she looked out of the corner of her eyes to sneak a peek at Ryland's reaction before listening to the beeps and other various sounds the game made while starting up, and then, there was that annoying sound that Mr. and Mrs. Pacman made while eating the pellets that she could never explain, and yet, it was, surprisingly, not aggitating in any way.
Steering the joystick in the right direction ins order to control her cartoon character of a yellow ball in the right direction, she'd sneak a peek every few seconds to spy on Ryland's screen, just in case he was doing better than she was. She did, after all, threaten to beat him at this game as well.

"Rob, there has always been more to you than meets the eye." As sincere as he was when he spoke, it didn't prevent him from looking extremely distracted. Toss a glowing screen and a controller in his direction, and no subject stood a chance against a game or two. Ryland's eyes remained glued to the screen before him, his lips parting only slightly in the way most brainless gamers did whenever they got 'into the zone.' After he had selected all the appropriate levels, and the screen ran through it's abundance in information concerning the game, Ryland was able to spare one more sarcastic comment.. you know, just to keep things from getting overly sentimental.
"And a lot of those 'beneath the surface' type things, don't even have a word yet-- Let alone a cure." A smirk of conquest graced his lips as he imagined the 'ha-ha' look she'd probably gotten on her face. It was a comment completely absent of any sort of ill will or malice, otherwise he would have never muttered the words. Not to her, anyway. His fingers gently slipped themselves around the grip of the joystick; his free hand lingered over the start button as he finally tore his eyes away from the screen. Ryland's attention had been caught at something she had said concerning the explicit content of the game.
For a moment he remained confused over whatever the hell she was trying to point out, but that was quickly clarified as his eyes fell upon her firmly planted hand. It was strategic and dirty, and it brought a small laugh out of him. Shaking his head he returned his attention to the screen, his mouth still open with his boyish smile. He wasn't the kind of guy that got shy with those things, he just kind of.. went with it.
"Only you, I swear. You'll shoot your eye out kid." Who could resist quoting A Christmas Story when the opportunity presented itself? If you could, then there was seriously something wrong in your childhood.
